TOOP
WONT SCOOP
All
bets are off the Cavs only overseas player topping the bowling
averages after the shock announcement that he is to retire
from the game.
Jez
'A.D' Toop - also known as Tooperman - told the website
he'd hung his boots up for the season as Snr offered odds
of 12/1 that he'd scoop the coveted bowling award.
"I've
got too much on to commit to the Cavs full-time," he
told our reporter.
Toops
became a valuable member of the victorious 2002 Cavs side
with his devastating opening bowling spells.
In
four games, he took five wickets and had an economy rate
of 3.54. He came fourth in the season's bowling averages.
A.D
also made a small contribution with the bat, making 24 runs
at an average of 12 per game. He had the 10th best end of
season average.
Cavs
president David Gower said: "Toops will be sorely missed."
P.S
Toops ordered a 3/4 shirt before the start of the season
which is up for grabs, should anyone need yet another team
jersey.
