to Woollams – home of OA Sport and the Cavaliers
OA Sport's Club is a high specification, multi-purpose sports
facility designed to provide a comprehensive and flexible
response to a broad range of business and leisure requirements.
With 27 acres of beautifully maintained playing fields the
unique character of Woollams is revealed.
Woollams is a 30 acre
sports development with first class pitches and a state
of the art pavilion. The facilities are open to the public
through the various sports clubs or individuals and companies
may hire pitches or function rooms.
Directions to Woollams
The Woollam Playing Fields are located
on the northern outskirts of St Albans, central Hertfordshire
on the main A1081, going north towards Harpenden and Luton.
Travelling by car:
From the south, M1 J6, 15 minutes
From the M25, J21a & J22, 15 minutes
From the north, M1 J9, 15 minutes
From the east, A1(M) J5, 15 minutes
Ample free parking for 350 cars.
When visiting OA Sport please ensure that you follow the
directions to the main car park.
Travelling by rail:
St Albans British Rail Thameslink , 10 minutes, up to 8
trains an hour, 20 minute journey from central London
Travelling by air
From the north, Luton Airport, 20 minutes
From the west, Heathrow Airport, 45 minutes
From the east, Stansted Airport, 45 minutes
OA Sports Clubs’ facilities
The sports facilities at Woollams are one of the UK's largest
outdoor playing field complexes covering 70 acres and prepared
to representative standards. They are amongst the highest
grade of sports facilities in Southern England. OA Sport
has 5 rugby pitches available for hire together with a football
pitch, 2 cricket squares and 4 astro turf tennis courts.
Playing surfaces can be remarked for other team sports such
as rugby league, lacrosse, softball or archery.

C1 Principal competition surface with grass or artificial
square, umpires office and score board. Viewing from Cricket
