I will be taking bets at the Radlet game for the season.

Runners and riders form guide:

F. Tant: Early promise this season with the bat and new lid from Bowmans may have stopped the rot of poor form in recent seasons. Still chasing the odd ball down leg side and prone to the odd nibble. It's still mental and if he can become Gooch under that lid he may just step up into the top half of batsmen. Still firing with his bowling but doesn't seem confident in his captaincy and will too readily offer up the armband for my liking. Rating: 6/10

P. Wide: Commitment with the Hatfield keys, the fixtures, bat and ball in his hand have projected the raptor into the early season fave for clubman of the year. Looks good in his run up and action to the crease and has found some extra pace from somewhere. Long old season and Lasagne seems to have given him some rope recently which could be telling. Looking for a big season from the Raptor and looks good value at 3/1 to top the batting aves. Mentally together and should be the Cavs danger but as with every season we say this and mediocrity ensues. Must now make the next step up. Rating: 8/10

G. Wide: Has netted poorly and been about 3 times all winter. Forgot his new bat at recent outdoor net at bogeyville and was unenthusiastic at Lloyds drills. Firing with the ball at present but who knows which Gay Wise will turn up at Radlett?? It's a fifth year problem in the mental game and needs to concentrate for 90 mins not just 45 when he has the bat in his hand. Odds on to make the cavs first ton but is he a team player......... Rating: 5/10

BCR: Has netted once to my knowledge and therefore no real indicators. Batted aggresively which is a positive sign and knows where the middle of his bat is. Offers variety if expensive in his bowling but must up the chat in the field. Too quiet by half. another clubman of the year early starter with the website but now must do it on the square not just on front of a pc. Will the late nights catch up with him. Rating: 4/10

Barry Ellis: I like what I see so far apart from the stupid f****g hair do. This carnival pikey is bowling with gusto and has been ever present at his fave day of the week. Probably because dinky, donky or freaky is overseas at the mo has let him concentrate. at the mo he is producing and looks like the 5th year's only hope this season. Batting well with good vision of the ball and fields well. In the all rounder category and needs to decide which he favours. Must stop being bent and not bowling when thrown the cherry. Rating: 7/10

Timmy F: Could well be the overseas player the little we have seen of him. Needs to produce the swingers that nibbled so many wickets last year. Has lost his mojo batting and needs to buy a box. Application is key. Good chat in the field. Rating: 3/10

Lloyd: This boy is looking better. Obviously in for his keeping but working hard at his batting and striving to nibble a position at 8 or 9 this season. As a specialist keeper we need him to contibute runs this year and I am setting him an average of 15 for the season. If he can do this for us I will perosnally keep him in champers at the end of season do all week. Needs targets in the games and has drilled us well. Rating: 9/10

Brindo: Get's a 2 purely on where he has wintered. Unknown quantity. Rating: 2/10

Hat: Haven't seen him all year and will he start at Radlet? If it was on pure ability he would the first na,me on the sheet every time. Gets a 4/10 purely on the line his bird gave us on NYE when she delivered 'Jim likes to read a chapter of his Atherton autobiograhy every night in bed before lights out'. Ever the thinker if Jim is in the groove no-one has better mental strength. Firey and that's why he's in my team. Rating: 4/10

Bagsmore
: No application but gets a 1/10 on his performance at Nottingham. Rating: 1/10

Snr: Niggly back injury. Form is temporary. Class is permanent. Rating: 5/10

Fireman: Like it this year from Firman but must work on keeping the ball down when batting. Hits too many in the air and is very bottom hand at the crease. Must play in the arc. Like his bowling this year and I feel this must be his game. Must want the ball every time if the ball is new or first change. Fields like a stag and application is excellent. Married life has taking 2/10 off his mark as Garden centres and DIY stores are bound to take their toll. Needs more gags in his armery this year. Rating: 8/10

Pickles: Has netted twice which is twice as many times as ever before. Back ailments seem to be behind him but must surely trade the sleeper in for a new bat. If he buys a bat less than £100 his rating will slide again but the Bogey hater must transmit that aggresion to the field. Big season for Jim which could be his last as he is due in October. The nod of a Barbados tour in 2005 may also set him up for clubman of the year at this early stage. Rating: 5/10

Mitch: Working hard on tucking Tant up so excused. Rating: 1/10

Toop and A N Others: Poor but will get 1/10 if you pay your subs. Rating: 0/10
