The
Accused
Rankin, Tant, Firmin, Foster (Jnr)
The
Charge
You have underperformed for the Cav's for a total of FOUR
seasons
Case
for the Prosecution
None of the accused have performed admirably with bat or
ball despite having ample opportunity in four years. Tant,
Firmin and Foster have batted miserably. Foster's 2002 average
is 3; Firmin's 2.66; and Tant's 8. Rankin has only improved
of late and once spent an hour and a half at the crease
for 7 runs. Their bowling is also nothing to be proud of,
unlike that of the Fifth year and Upper Sixth, who take
the majority of wickets.
Case
for the Defence
Three of the four co-accused have spent the night before
most Cavs matches at one or all of the following - festivals,
nightclubs, pubs, house parties across the south-east of
England. The economy has thrived during the time these four
have spent their hard earned cash on wine, women and song.
The
fourth member of the quartet has taken a slightly different
approach, choosing to get early nights to try and overcome
excessive nerves experienced when at the wicket. His is
a medical condition and should be taken into consideration
when evaluating performances.
