2008 Season Message

Gentlemen

So, now that the football season is officially OVER, the new cricket season is fast approaching. Bring it on! Thought I’d send an email round with a few details so we can all start thinking about another successful summer in purple and white. This email therefore outlines:
1. Fixtures
2. Tour
3. Nets
4. Official Cavs Merchandise

Here goes…

1. Fixtures
Respect is due to Brindo, Tooth and assorted other lads for securing a good selection of fixtures for the summer, with one or two perhaps to be slotted in. I’ll sort out an official fixture card soon, but in the meantime please stick these in your diaries. I’m sure our esteemed skipper Mr BC Rankin will be contacting you all in due course to find out about your availability. As many of the Cavs are proving more fruitful in the bedroom than on the pitch, there are loads of babies newly arrived (congrats Lloyd and Snr), due any day (Brindo and Rusty), or coming a few months down the line (Me, Buzzard, Tooth, Ellis), it’s really important that we try to maximise our availability and don’t have any bent last minute drop-outs. We also need to spread the net a bit further, so do please sound out any cricketing mates about playing for the Cavs.

2. Tour
Big Up to JB for organising our Canterbury Tour. It’s going to be quality, I’m sure. Please can you make sure that you transfer your £60 to the Cavs account as per his email, pronto. If you’re not going to make the tour, please just transfer £30 to cover your membership (which pays for pitches, nets, etc)

3. Nets
A good session last Sunday, and BCR was there with his clipboard making notes and looking earnest. Next sessions are March 23 (9-10), March 30 (9-10), April 6 (7-8) and April 13 (7-8) all at Choice Cricket Centre, Flamsteadbury Farm, Redbourn, AL3 7DJ. Well done BCR for getting these booked (and paying for them!)

4. Official Cavs Merchandise
I think that most lads are sorted for playing kit, although if you need some more whites, joupes, shirts etc, let me know and I’ll put an order in. Assume about £15 for a shirt, £20 for a jumper, £10 for a cap/panama. We also have a wealth of official après-cricket kit, for all the family, which you can order from the Cavs Megastore. It would be great to see us rocking up for fixtures in this gear (well, maybe not the Stevie G, not even you Firms)

Right, that’s it form me. Allez les Cavs – here’s to a cracking 2008
