Cavs vs Redbourn CC
Cavaliers vs Redbourn 23 August 2009A good victory
for the Cavs yesterday, against a youthful Redbourn side.
Some tight bowling ensured that their grown-ups didn't get
away, before, not for the first time, Tail-end Rankin picked
up three young (don't worry, the police have been notified).
Chasing 136, Greggsy got us off to a flyer with 36 in three
overs, before the mandatory Cavs collapse saw FT join Bainesy
in the middle at 46 for 5. Supported by BCR at the end,
we got home with 4 wickets left in hutch and 18 overs still
to go. There was even a chance for some niggle in the middle,
BCR fronting up to their skipper when moaned at for hammering
runs of nippers. "You f*cking brought them" said
Bainesy, politely.
Special mention for LBC, whose Antipodean fine cost him
a double bubble £2, on top of a golden duck. Unlucky
LBC, am sure your time will come next week.
Not sure when the Goat is back, so please can you reply
to both me and him with your availability for this Sunday,
away vs Boxmoor.
Also, such was the positive vibe in the sunshine after
yesterday's game, there is talk of getting another fixture
on the 6th Sept and 13th Sept. We could play Redbourn in
a winner-takes-all showdown at Woollams on the 13th and
would need to find an away fixture on Sunday 6th. I've already
asked about availability for the 6th and it's touch and
go, with the following in:
Brindo
Bainesy
BCR
JB
Greggs
Elbow
Woody
Choccy Thorntons
Me, LBC and Muddy are definitely out, and the Goat and
Wisey are maybes.
